Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimmyenez, September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. Her career started in Mexico, where she starred in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. With appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) In 1999, she quickly made her mark as a star in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002), which she also directed as well, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. This also earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as well as British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek starred in the action-packed Once Upon a Time in Mexico pictures in subsequent years and focused on producing.
